A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year - old grandson.
The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered.
The Family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's hands and Failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.
When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.
The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.
"We must do something about father," said the son.
"I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor."
So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.
There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.
Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.
When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone.
Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.
The four-year-old watched it all in silence.
One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.
He asked the child sweetly, "What are you making?" Just as sweetly, the boy responded,
"Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up.
" The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.
The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless.
Then tears started to stream down their cheeks.
Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.
That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.
For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason,Neither the husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.
Wait dear, a white horse is walking down my street here, Your words are creeping at my feet I fear, sunrise will come to soon and you'll disappear Into the haze of this city and go south...
Look out, they're coming after us with big guns, They're only gonna tell you all the bad things I've done Even if they words they say aren't true they've won, Any I'm left here dyin in the sun
Oh...seems like I'm always on my own, Seems like I'm never coming home Seems like I'm always on my... All the stars and boulevards ain't close enough for you...
Late nights, won't do me justice Cause when I drink...I just get so damn depressed, And its not like, I ain't trying to get over you. it's just hard to look at the seasons, pass me over too...
Oh...seems like I'm always on my own, Seems like I'm never coming home Seems like I'm always on my... All the stars and boulevards ain't close enough for you...
One last phone call from you, it wouldn't hurt much, I'd just like to hear your voice and pretend to touch, Any inch of you that hasn't said it all or read it all or sung My life away
And I say oh...seems like I'm always on my own, Seems like I'm never coming home Seems like I'm always on my... All the stars and boulevards ain't close enough for you...
Mellow piano rockers Augustana are a heartland equivalent to Coldplay or Keane, with a little bit of mid-'90s adult alternative throwback (think Counting Crows or the Wallflowers) as well. The band formed in Greenville, IL, in 2002, while singer and keyboardist Dan Layus and guitarist Josiah Rosen were attending a small evangelical college there. The original lineup of the band was completed by bassist Simeon Lohrmann, second keyboardist David Lamoureaux, and drummer Kyle Baker.
IC 2118 (also known as Witch Head Nebula due to its shape), is believed to be an ancient supernova remnant or gas cloud illuminated by nearby supergiant Rigel in Orion. It lies in the Eridanus constellation, about 1000 light-years from Earth. The nature of the dust particles, reflecting blue light better than red, is a factor in giving the Witch Head its blue color.
Donovan was one of the most popular British recording artists of his day, producing a series of hit albums and singles between 1965 and 1970. He became a friend of leading pop musicians including Joan Baez, Brian Jones, and The Beatles, and was one of the few artists to collaborate on songs with the Beatles. He influenced both John Lennon and Paul McCartney when he taught them his finger-picking guitar style in 1968.
